Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-05-11
Heads up. This is a draft authored against the actual product. It is pending review by counsel and the operator's legal-tech provider (Termly). It reflects our intent; the final published version may differ in form. If you rely on this for any decision, email legal@sigrel.com first.
1. Agreement
These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding contract between you and Stelviq Holdings LLC, a Delaware limited liability company doing business as Sigrel ("Sigrel," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account, running a free scan, or otherwise using the Sigrel service ("Service"), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to create a paid account. The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. You represent that you have the legal capacity to enter these Terms and are not barred from using the Service under applicable law.
3. Your account
You are responsible for the security of your credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. We strongly recommend enabling multi-factor authentication from Settings → Security. Notify us immediately at security@sigrel.com if you suspect unauthorised access.
4. Subscription tiers, pricing, and billing
- Free tier: $0, no payment information required. One monitored identifier, monthly scan cadence.
- Core tier: $9.99/month or $89/year, paid in advance. Cancel any time; monthly cancellations stop the next renewal, annual cancellations are eligible for a prorated refund within 14 days of charge.
- Pro tier: $24.99/month or $229/year, paid in advance. Same cancellation and refund terms as Core.
- Prices may change. We will give existing subscribers at least 30 days' notice via email before any price change takes effect; you may cancel before it does.
- Payment is processed by Stripe. You authorise us to charge the payment method on file for the recurring fee. Failed payments may result in suspension after a grace period.
5. License to use the Service
Subject to your compliance with these Terms and timely payment of any applicable fees, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Service for your own personal threat-intelligence purposes.
6. Intellectual property
The Service, including the software, design, models, copy, branding (including "Sigrel"), and trade dress, is owned by Stelviq Holdings LLC and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you no right to copy, modify, redistribute, reverse engineer, or create derivative works of the Service, except to the extent these restrictions are prohibited by applicable law. Breach intelligence data surfaced through the Service may be subject to separate terms from the underlying provider.
You retain ownership of the personal information you provide. By submitting it, you grant us a limited licence to process it as described in our Privacy Policy and as needed to deliver the Service.
7. Modifications to the Service
We may add, change, or remove features. We will not materially reduce a paid tier's feature set without 30 days' notice; if we do, you may cancel and request a prorated refund of any unused portion.
7A. Broker-removal service (Pro tier)
Pro tier includes a data-broker removal service. Sigrel acts as your agent, forwarding the details you submit (legal name, current and past addresses, date of birth, and any phone numbers you choose to include) to our broker-removal partner, which files opt-out requests with data-broker and people-search sites on your behalf. The named partner is identified in our Privacy Policy (section “Service providers / sub-processors”).
Best-effort service. Removal is contingent on each broker honouring its own opt-out process. Sigrel does not control broker timing or guarantee any specific broker will remove your record. Most removals complete within 14–45 days of enrollment. Some brokers re-publish previously-removed records on their own quarterly refresh cycle; we re-file the opt-out request automatically when our partner reports a re-emergence.
Truthful submission required. You must submit accurate information identifying yourself. Submitting another person's name, address, or date of birth — or fabricated information intended to obscure a third party's identity — is prohibited and may result in account termination, the underlying broker request being rejected, and (where applicable) referral to the brokers' or our partner's anti-fraud processes.
Cancellation. You may cancel broker removal at any time from Settings → Privacy → Broker removal. Sigrel will forward the deletion to our partner, which will halt future scans for your record. Opt-out requests already filed with brokers may continue to be processed on the brokers' side.
Vendor dependency. The broker-removal service depends on the continued operation of our partner's API. If the partnership ends, we will give 30 days' notice and either substitute an equivalent partner or refund the unused portion of any Pro subscription tied to this feature.
7B. Sigrel Community (United States only)
Availability. Sigrel Community — a public, moderated, county-level scam-watch where members post about robocalls, scam texts, phishing, and related fraud — is offered only to members located in the United States. It is organised by U.S. county, and access may be blocked where we detect that you are outside the United States. Community is a discussion forum: there is no direct or private messaging, by design.
Your content and conduct. You are solely responsible for what you post. You must follow our Community Guidelines, which are incorporated into these Terms. Among other things, you must not post another person's private information (doxxing), harass or threaten anyone, impersonate others, or use Community to advertise, solicit, or promote yourself, a business, a website, or social accounts. Post only about scams and security topics relevant to your county.
Licence to your posts. You retain ownership of what you post. You grant Sigrel a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, and distribute your posts and comments to other Community members and as needed to operate and moderate the Service.
Moderation. Community content may be automatically hidden after multiple members report it, pending review, and we may remove content or restrict accounts that violate the Community Guidelines or these Terms. Moderation may combine automated screening (including automated classification of reported content) with human review. We do not guarantee that any particular post will remain available.
8. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING (BUT NOT LIMITED TO) WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.
Sigrel surfaces breach intelligence from third-party feeds. We do not guarantee the completeness, accuracy, or timeliness of any feed's data. The absence of a breach record does not mean an identifier is safe; the presence of one means a feed reported it. Always cross-check with the original source where the impact is material.
9. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL SIGREL, ITS AFFILIATES, OR ITS SERVICE PROVIDERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (a) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (b) ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS ($100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In those jurisdictions, the above limitations apply only to the extent permitted by law.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sigrel, its affiliates, officers, employees, and service providers from and against any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of (a) your violation of these Terms, (b) your misuse of the Service, or (c) your infringement of any third-party right (including monitoring an identifier you do not own or have authorisation to monitor).
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Federal law applies where it preempts state law.
12. Dispute resolution (informal resolution, arbitration, and class-action waiver)
Please read this section carefully — it affects your legal rights.
12.1 Informal resolution first
Before filing any formal claim, you agree to contact us at legal@sigrel.com with a brief written description of the dispute and how you would like to resolve it. We will attempt to resolve it in good faith within 60 days. Many disputes can be resolved this way.
12.2 Binding arbitration
If we cannot resolve the dispute informally, you and Sigrel agree to resolve any claim or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service through binding individual arbitration administered by JAMS under its Streamlined Arbitration Rules & Procedures (or, for claims over $250,000, its Comprehensive Arbitration Rules), and not in court. Arbitration will take place in Delaware (or another mutually agreed location, or by video conference). Either party may seek to enforce the arbitration award in any court of competent jurisdiction.
12.3 Class-action waiver
You and Sigrel each agree to bring claims against the other only in your or its individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, collective, consolidated, or representative action. If a court or arbitrator finds this waiver unenforceable as to a claim, that claim will proceed in court (not in arbitration), but the rest of this Section 12 will continue to apply.
12.4 Small-claims carve-out
Either party may bring an individual action in small-claims court if it qualifies; the agreement to arbitrate does not require either side to forfeit that forum.
12.5 Your right to opt out of arbitration
You may opt out of Section 12.2 and 12.3 by emailing legal@sigrel.com with the subject "Arbitration opt-out" within 30 days of the date you first accepted these Terms. Include your full name and the email on your account. Opting out does not affect any other part of these Terms.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. When we make material changes, we will notify active accounts by email at least 30 days before the change takes effect, and we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. Your continued use of the Service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you can cancel before the change takes effect.
14. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Privacy → Delete account or by emailing privacy@sigrel.com. We may suspend or terminate your account for material violation of these Terms; we will give you written notice and a chance to remediate, unless the violation is severe enough to require immediate action (e.g. fraud, abuse, security risk).
15. Miscellaneous
- Severability. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in force.
- No waiver. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
- Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our written consent. We may assign these Terms to a successor in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
- Entire agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Sigrel regarding the Service.
- Notice. We may give notice by email, by posting in the product, or by updating the relevant policy page. Notice to us must be sent to legal@sigrel.com.
Acceptable use
Sigrel is a personal threat-intelligence product. You may add identifiers (emails, phone numbers, usernames, etc.) that you own or have explicit authorisation to monitor. You may not:
- Add identifiers belonging to people who have not authorised you to monitor them.
- Use the product to compile dossiers on third parties.
- Resell or redistribute breach data sourced through the product.
- Attempt to bypass tier limits, rate limits, or access controls.
- Use the product to violate the terms of any third-party service we route through (Have I Been Pwned, LeakCheck, Enzoic, Hudson Rock, etc.).
- Submit broker-removal enrollments containing another person's legal name, address, date of birth, or phone numbers — or fabricated identifiers intended to obscure a third party. See Section 7A above for the broker-removal-specific rules.
- In Sigrel Community: post another person's private information, harass or impersonate others, or advertise/solicit/self-promote. Community is United States only. See Section 7B and the Community Guidelines.
Your account
You are responsible for keeping your credentials safe. We strongly recommend enabling two-factor authentication from Settings → Security. We are not responsible for breaches of your account that result from credential reuse, phishing, or device compromise outside our control.
Beta disclosures
During the private beta:
- The service is offered free of charge, with no guarantee of availability or specific feature retention at general availability.
- We may pause or roll back features based on what we learn from beta feedback.
- We will not delete your data without your action, except as needed to enforce these terms.
- You may export or delete your account at any time from Settings → Privacy.
No warranty
The product surfaces breach intelligence from third-party feeds. We do not guarantee the completeness or accuracy of any feed's data. The absence of a breach record in the product does not mean an identifier is safe; the presence of one means a feed provider reported it. Always cross-check with the original source where the impact is material.
Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided "as is" and we disclaim all warranties (express, implied, or statutory). Our liability for any claim arising out of your use of the service is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim — which during the private beta is zero.
Termination
Either side may terminate the relationship at any time. You can delete your account from Settings → Privacy. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate the acceptable-use rules above; we will give you written notice and a chance to export your data unless the violation is severe enough to require immediate action.
