How Sigrel works · updated 22 October 2026
Sources, schedule, and how we decide.
The free scan
You enter an email. We check it against three breach-intelligence partners and public leak lists and return the number of known breaches that include it and the worst severity. The email is used for the lookup and discarded; the result is not stored. Breach names, what leaked in each and the fix are shown once you have a free account, because that is personal data and we want you signed in first.
What we watch
Six kinds of identifier: email, phone number, username, gaming handle, email alias and your own domain. Each is hashed on your device before anything is compared, so Sigrel’s servers hold hashes, not the identifiers.
Schedule
Identifiers are rechecked on a schedule you can see: every result shows when it last ran. Daily on Pro. There is no claim of live or round-the-clock monitoring, because that is not how breach data arrives.
Severity and the score
Each breach is rated by what leaked (a password paired with your email is critical; a name and an email alone are low) and how recent it is. Your score starts from those findings and moves when you see or fix them, with every point explained in the app.
The forecast
“What’s coming” links what is exposed about you to the scam types that use it, weighted by what official complaint data and local reports show this month. It is written as a likelihood, never a certainty, and each card names its sources.
The Wire
Scam reports for your county from official sources (the FTC, the FCC, state attorneys general), local news, and neighbours who report through Sigrel. Each card carries its source and date. The county is the only location used.
Check
Paste a text, link or number. The verdict compares it with complaint patterns, breach data and neighbour reports and lists the reasons. Only the text you paste is sent. Five checks a day on the free account.
What we do not claim
No “24/7”, no “real-time”, no “100%”. We do not say who leaked your data, because the data cannot show that. Where a number appears on this site, it links to its source and date.
Questions: Support. The company: About. Your data: Privacy policy.
